Dividing Parcels (California San Bernardino County)

Does anyone had experience in Mentone/Redlands Ca? 

I bought a property with a single family home, with a private driveway, and its own back yard. Also on this parcel , is a 5-plex. I'm looking to divide the parcel, separate the single family home from the 5-plex, sell the single family home, and then reinvest in more units. Does anyone have experience in Mentone/Redlands? Are they usually friendly on subdivisions? Best Regards
