Kitchen is missing - can't get a loan. Ideas?

looking at a duplex that seems very nice. the price is a little high, but before we even get there i noticed that the kitchen cabinets in one of the units is missing.

3 loan guys said "you can't get a loan if the kitchen is not operational".

i asked if they can classify it as a "SFR" and they said "no".

any ideas how to get around this?
