Foreclosures and Auctions

Posted

I am a complete beginner in the investing world and I am hear to learn all I can. I am confused, I signed up for foreclosure.homes.com and see so many homes for auction/foreclosure but see no details on when auctions are, how to find out when, where, etc; or any other pertinent details. How do you actually locate an auction near you and where do you see what types of homes are there? Can one go to an auction just to watch and learn? How much money do you need to be able to even have a chance in an auction?

For example) I see this townhome listed with a starting bid of $2,400. Obviously it won't sell for that much but what could one expect to see as a estimated final bid price? For context, I am looking in the Provo, Utah area which is a university town.

If you were just starting into real estate investing and did not have a huge amount of capital to put down for a downpayment what types of properties would you look for, how would you go about funding, etc?
