Dallas TX Unpaid Property Tax Laws
Went driving for dollars for the first time and a handful of the addresses I looked up had unpaid taxes, one going back 22 years, and totaling about 60% of the appraised value. That one in particular looked clearly abandoned with the mailbox overflowing. At what point is property repossessed by the city? Or does that happen? Curious as to the laws around this situation to see if it's an opportunity for a deal on an off-market property. Would owners ever go for a deal where I pay the tax bill to get the house? Can I make a deal with the city? What is an effective strategy in these situations?
