Distractions During Negotiation

Hello :)

I am currently reading David Lindahl's "Multi-Family Millions", and in chapter 9 he discusses negotiation secrets. I am sure as most know, and some may not know, all emotions must be kept out of the negotiation. This can be hard at times though, due to circumstances out of our control.

What have you experienced at the negotiation table that caught you off guard? How do you prepare for negotiations?

Thanks,

Nick Aja

Hi Nick,

No special preparation. Just know two things, know the minimum you want in the deal (write it down), and try to figure out what the maximum is you can get in the deal.

Then just ask the other person for what you want and wait for their reply.

That gives you a top and bottom for YOUR side of the deal to work with.

If somewhere between those two points works for the other side you will have a deal. If not--move on.

Good Luck!
