Atlanta Advice - Primary and second rental investment SFH

Joel Chehab
Posted

Hey y'all,

I just joined BP a few days ago and am excited to find and learn from a community of like-minded folks across the nation. I recently purchased our first SFH rental investment property in Knight Park-Howell Station, Atlanta. We closed on June 15th and Have a tenant moving in tomorrow.

My wife and I both work for CDC, currently posted overseas, but will likely be returning to Atlanta shortly. We are fully committed to FI and want to pursue as part of our income streams rental investment properties. We would therefore be looking to (1) purchase a SFH in a good (7+) elementary school neighborhood either ITP or very close for <300K (ideally 275K or less, needing minor repairs/cosmetic touch ups) and (2) very soon after that, purchase a second rental investment property targetting similar neighborhoods.

I've narrowed neighborhoods to and around Tucker as having the best bang for the buck for SFH meeting these criteria, but would love to hear from the forum your opinions.

Appreciate any you may have to share.

Thanks, and be well and stay safe!

Joel
