Get a license or just educate myself?

Hello! I'm new here and am hoping to learn and thrive with all of you!

So as it stands, I've been reading and watching tons of videos to learn more about the real estate market. My parents thinks it's a good idea to get a real estate license just so that way I know the ins and outs of the market better.

Neither of them have any investment experience or real estate experience so this is just a suggestion of theirs.

QUESTION: So I suppose my question is whether or not I should devote time to getting a license or should I just research and just use and agent when it's time. What did you all do personally or what would you suggest?
