Managing Text Messages (Iphone)

I often find that I'm doing most of my communication with contractors, tenants, realtors, etc. through text message and not email. I find it hard to manage these like you can your email with apps like Boomerang. How do you manage these types of messages? 

I'd like to be able to set follow up for messages, reminders directly from the imessage app, or set messages to show up at a different time but I haven't found any apps that do this.

Does anyone have any tricks?
