Idaho--Looking for Best Town to Live & Work w/ Young Family

Hi there! I'm from Colorado. My wife & I are headed to Idaho in August. We are going to make our trip part business, part vacation. What areas are great for work/life as a young family, we will potentially move there so looking for areas we can connect with realtors in advance to get a better idea. We have researched quite a bit online but wanted personal references. 

We want some direct advice on where to visit and look as a potential town to live in. We have two young children, 4 & 18 months. We love being outside. I am in commercial construction and will be exploring employment options/companies in advance as well. 

In your personal experience and opinion what are the top areas to explore and consider for living with a young family who values community, work/life balance and easy access to outdoor activities.

Don't forget the other side and the state that contains the majority of Yellowstone National Park: Cody, Wyoming! Beautiful scenery and wildlife galore, lots to do outdoors, great schools, great medical facilities, quality of life is fantastic, most people spend less than ten minutes commuting to work, and we have amenities and money you normally wouldn't find in a city this size but without all the rich-people wackiness you will find in Jackson Hole. Work is available for contractors that know how to answer a phone and show up. 

I've lived all over the country and several places around the world and this is as good as it gets for quality of life. Good schools, good internet, great amenities, and not too far from a big city if you need to take a break or add variety to your shopping/dining/entertainment.
