Building commercial shop in inland empire CA

I started my company a 8 years ago or so in a garage with my business partner. We've moved from there to 3 thousand, to 10 thousand, now 16,000 square feet. We've always rented. Were looking to build a 30 thousand square foot building on 1.5-2 acres. Looking for some insight on how to get a good deal on the land. I've been keeping an eye on loopnet. Does anyone start doing mailers for finding a property to build on? Any other ideas or suggestions?

Our current land lord wants us to build us a building for $155 a square foot all in for a steel building and has the land to do so but it seems a little high? Would love to hear some opinions on that as well.
