Well Inspection gone wrong- who pays?
I am selling a home. Buyers had a well inspection and yield test done. Well yielded 12 gal per min. and passed with flying colors. No one other than the inspector could be there while the test was going on. Next morning we go into the house and have no water. Have a well known and respected well company come out and find out the pump burned up. Pump only 4 years old. Our contract says if their inspections or inspectors cause any damage, they are responsible to pay for the damages. The well testing company says there was nothing wrong when they left and how long after the test should they be responsible if something breaks. More than likely going to negotiate a 50/50 split on the cost, but wanted to see if anyone else has ever dealt with this and how was it resolved. Thanks in advance!

I'm glad you figured out a solution. The chances of a 4 year old pump failing within 24 hours of an inspection is suspect.
