Questions on Buying a Property at Auction

Hi BP,

I'm interested in purchasing a foreclosed house that is going to auction on May 21st. This will be my first time doing this, so I have a few questions for the BP community outlined below.  Any help you can provide would be awesome!

  1. 1. Am I allowed to call the current property owners to determine their remaining mortgage?
  2. 2. How can I confirm any liens on the property?
  3. 3. How many cashier's checks and in what denomination should I bring?
  4. 4. What other information should I look into ahead of the auction?

Best,

Alex
