Bought a defected house need advise

I Bought a slab foundation house in Oakland county Michigan, a month after close discovered mold and water damage in kitchen & bathroom.

House value is about $150000 and mortgage is for $140000, doubt a investor would take it off my hands for $140000 but that’s why I’m asking.

I had a leak detection company into detect if it was aunder the slab pipe leaking but they did not find anything, I do not know if it’s flashing around the chimney or the fact that there are no gutters causing water to come in behind siding or flood over the foundation.

The dishwasher was leaking a ton of water so it could just be that not sure tho.

My question is, is there a way to walk away from the house without having to ruin my credit I have an excellent credit score, I don’t know if an investor will be able to take it off my hands or is there a way to give it back to the mortgage company without destroying credit?

Thanks for the any replies sorry for a longer post and I could really appreciate help if anyone knows of quality construction companies or water restoration companies in the Oakland county or metro Detroit Michigan area.

I wouldn't sell because of mold. Youll probably never get your money back unfortunately once you tell someone theres mold they tend to freak out. It's not a big deal, once you find the source of moisture it shouldn't be too bad to fix. Where was the mold physically found?

It's hard to understand the layout without seeing the place. But I'd narrow things out. If the dishwasher was leaking near where all the mold was I'd treat and remove the mold. Fix the dishwasher obviously.

Next time you get a few days of heavy rain, check around the outside of the house for any large puddling near the house. Fill in low spots to pitch away from the roof. If the flashing on the chimney was leaking most likely it would show up in the attic not at the slab in the ground. Either which way having a contractor reflash a masonry chimney isnt horrible. If it's a b-vent type chimney it's even easier. Heck while he's up on the roof change all the flashing for the plumbing vents.
