Seller Raises Sale Price
Hi, everyone,
I am new to the forum. In my first post, I would like to share my story and seek for some advice. My story can be summarized as follows:
1. On 2/1, my wife and I signed a purchase agreement for a newly build town-home. The seller (Pulte) asked for 515k (offer fridge and blinds, total value is about 4k) and we offered 505k without asking for fridge and blinds.
2. On 2/2, our offer got rejected and the seller insisted on their initial price (515k with fridge and blinds).
3. On 2/4, we agreed to offer 515k including fridge and blinds. The seller told us they did not have time to install the fridge and thus reduce the price to $512,760 (including blinds). They sent us a new purchase agreement to review and sign. We agreed and signed the document.
4. On 2/7, we were notified the seller changed their mind and raised the price to 520k with no fridge and blinds.
5. On 2/9, our second signed purchase agreement got voided.
My wife and I felt we were getting played during the whole process. The seller got our signature and continued to shop for other buyers, which is very unethical.
We like the house and want to make a deal. However, we will definitely not offer seller's new price. Can any of you offer some proper advice? Thanks for all the help!
