Florida Condo/HOA investments

I am planning to relocate to Florida in the next few years, I would like to get started transferring investments to the state now so that I have something to relocate to. I know that condos are taboo for a lot of investors, but I am very interested. I would like to network with anyone who has done it, and is willing to share some advice. I normally get down there a few times a year. On my next visit I will stop in some meetups, but in the meantime I'd like to get to know as much as I can. Any book recommendations on condominium investments are welcome as well!
