Purchasing a HUD Home

Hello all. For my next purchase I've spotted a HUD home I am interested in. I recall seeing a couple old posts that were basically explaining how to get the best deal on a HUD home. These posts are very old though.

Has anybody purchased a HUD home recently, or have any recent information about it? I'm trying to figure out if there are any nuances I should consider, or if I should just proceed purchasing it like any other house?

I'm aware that there will be risks with the property itself, I'm more concerned with the purchasing process from HUD.

As an FYI, I am planning on offering during owner occupy period and moving in.
