MLS Status During Lease-to-Purchase Agreement

Does the MLS status have to stay stuck on "Pending" throughout the entire duration of the lease portion of the lease-to-own agreement?

Example: If, at the end of a 12-month lease, the renter decides not to go through with the purchase and the house is to go back on the market for sale. Is the MLS days on market now 365 extra days (where the house wasn't being shown to other prospective buyers because it was under the lease-to-own contract)? This is the way that it seems to be happening, but doesn't seem right that an un-showable house accumulates days on market.
