I’m new to BiggerPockets and the real estate game, I was wondering if there were pros in my area that can help me get started and run through the startup. I am very nervous about the whole process but am eager to learn.

@Robert Delaney I'm in NJ. I recommend you read David Greene's book on Long Distance Real Estate Investing. NJ's not a particularly good market for RE investing. Prices high, taxes high, laws not so friendly to landlords. I don't mean to discourage you -- some people do really well in NJ, I'm sure. My point is that you don't need to invest locally. And if you read David's book, investing remotely will be a lot less scary.
