How long does it take for a portfolio lender to approve a loan?

I am working with an FHA buyer and we are less than 1 week away from closing. Loan commitment has been delivered but underwriter has since quit and new underwriter is denying the loan. Sellers won't extend the closing so our options are limited. Does anyone know how long it would take for a portfolio lender to approve a loan?
