Flipping Shortsale in Short Time?

I found a potentially good property for a flip. It's listed at 120k, needs 20-25k work (paint, floors, popcorn ceiling, HVAC, garage door), and ARV is around 180k. Two problems though. First, I am up against a short timeframe to complete (end of year). On its own, it's not a big issue, rehab should only take 4-6 weeks. The bigger issue though is that it's a short sale, which given my time window seems to make this deal DOA. Has anyone had luck getting a bank to approve a short sale faster? This would be a cash purchase situation with a fast close, but I'm not sure that would motivate a bank like it would a distressed seller.
