Buying realastate that allows scalability
Hi everyone. My name is Elijah Sunderland. I am from Palmer Alaska and when I went to my freshman year of college I was introduced to the book Rich Dad Poor Dad (just like everyone els...) after reading this I started doing research on real estate. Before college I knew about rentals because both my parents have a small handful of rentals. I never thought that much of it because I didn’t have a passive income mindset. Today I am nineteen and I have started building a small cabin that I plan on renting. It is still in the beginning stages so it will not be cash flowing for a year or so. Last year I dropped out of college because I had spent all my savings on school and realized if I wanted to keep go in my to school I would have to take out student loans. This was not something I wanted to start adulthood with. I make good money now with a weird schedule I leave town and work two weeks out of every month and when I’m home I use my money and build more to my cabin. Does anybody have knowledge of Alaska’s rental housing market? Is there anyone with experience in investing in Alaska. I really am looking for methods of expanding in the right direction,Thanks!

Hey man! I'm a local investor here in Wasilla, hit me up sometime. I love the mindset already, keep it up. I would recommend Bigger Pockets as a resource to get you in the right direction. Also, as @Keenan Fitzpatrick has mentioned, the Landlords Almanac events, hosted in Anchorage, once a month is a very good place to learn the ropes of managing properties.
Alaska's market as a whole has seen better times according to the Department of Labor, but I believe you can still make it work with the right criteria.
