Is it to early to inquire about a specific house 7 months out?
Like the description says, I want to purchase a duplex as my first property. I've been browsing houses on the market currently just out of curiosity and to practice analyzing them. During this I found one house which I really like and think will cash flow well. However, I can't leave my current lease until May 1st. There's obviously no guarantee it's still on the market come ~February. Since I haven't gone through the home buying process before, I'm just wondering if it's even common/heard for sellers to even consider offers which close over half a year away. Appreciate any thoughts you have. Thanks!

@Phil Kagebein If the numbers work out for you, you can just pay to get out of your lease. Likely the seller will not entertain offers that far in advance. There are many others waiting to jump on a good deal.
