House Addition - WIP on our House

So I'm an engineer and have submitted plans into the city (right next to Des Moines) on a 950 sq ft house addition.  Each of the 2 floors will be one large bedroom and an en suite bathroom.  It's been eye opening doing framing for new construction (compared to the rehabs we've done a lot of).

I've gotten thoroughly involved with the concrete prep (excavation, grading, etc) and pour, as well as the framing.  This weekend we are getting a metal roof installed, and then we're moving on to the systems work, insulation, window installation, etc.

So far we are about $20k in on the project.

The roof line is pretty interesting - intiially we had a gable style roof but it was going to cause some issues with how it lined up with the existing fascia, gutter system, and some windows.  So, we are using a 2x12 rafter system with a low pitch roof - this wouldn't work with shingles, by the way.

Huge windows coming and I'm afraid to see the bill for that, but we're thinking it will add a lot of value.
