Foreign Investor Buying cash and Refinance

Hello everyone,

I am a foreign investor who recently moved to US. I do not have any credit background therefore many lenders find me too risky. They either offer high interest mortgage rates or deny any mortgage outright.
For this reason, I intend to purchase my first property in cash, rent it out and hold it for 5-6 months to generate cashflow, then apply for refinancing and buy a second property with that.
I am a buy and hold type of investor and focusing on affordable housings in B and C areas. Would this strategy work? Do you have any strategies that would work for me? When I refinance the first property what kind of issues would I face? Can I refinance the second property also to buy a third one?

Thanks in advance

Berke
