Negotiation after Inspection

Hey everyone,

I am almost in the final process of buying my first (primary) home with the intention of renting the basement. I just go the inspection reports and it looks like it will cost me around 8k (very rough estimate) to repair it.

do you think I should ask the sellers to go down in price? what if they said no? My wife an I are not in a situation to look for other houses. Just not enough time.

What is the best way to negotiate after the inspection is done?

your comment is appreciated.

Tesfa.
