Why does no one reply to my discussions?

I’m seeing tons of pretty ****** and uninteresting topics being posted and several people flock to them, but with my discussions, it’s deader than a cemetery. Is it because I may have accidentally turned something on/off in my settings? Or what...

first, it happens all the time. there are a LOT of posts on this forum and the overwhelming majority of them get passed by. Could be timing, could be delivery, could be anything. Don't take it personally

second, momentum does seem to matter, posts that aren't commented on go away while posts with traction attract more responses. This is just the way of the internet

third, It's important to consider why you are posting. Are you posting to learn something, or are you posting to create discussion? People post for all sorts of reasons, so consider what you're trying to accomplish when creating a topic.

If you're posting for a question to be answered, then you have to understand that the RIGHT person who can answer it needs to come along while it's on the top of the forum and interact, in many cases it's easier to just search for your answer, although obviously not as fun.

if you're posting to create discussion in the community, then you take on the burden of making it interesting enough for people to jump in. Some are going to be popular and most won't, that's just the internet.

I will say this, a bad attitude doesn't work well on these boards. Coming in here and insulting other posts for not being as interesting as yours just isn't going to resonate with the user base or help your cause. I understand it's frustrating when you have a post that goes unnoticed, but this is not the correct pathway forward.

Don't be discouraged, keep posting. You'll gain traction as you post more, I guarantee that.  This is a BIG message board, so creating discussions that attract large parts of the user base isn't easy, get a bit more competitive ;) ;)
