Anyone familiar with Corpus Christi, TX market?

Any investors in Corpus? Have seen a couple multi-family properties that make sense numbers wise but I'm in SA and not too familiar with the market.

I'm worried about finding quality property management and the cost of windstorm and flood insurance. Also, not too familiar with what neighborhoods are good/bad or vacancies. Anyone have any insight on this market?

@Jose D.

Hello there. I live in Corpus Christi and I am in the process of aligning my ducks for acquiring my first property. Corpus Christi is a good place to invest as long as you choose the right property, like in any other market you do need to know what class of neighborhood you are investing. You definitely need someone who knows the area to give you an advise.

On the insurance side, windstorm insurance policy is separated from the homeowners policy due to the fact that we are in the coast and storms and hurricanes are more likely to develop and land over here, and because of that, the premium for wind policy is higher than in SA. You also have to make sure that your investment is not in a flood zone because if it is, the mortgage will require you to also have a flood policy, which will eat a chunk of your cash flow.

If you have any further question feel free to ask. I won’t be able to tell you whether or not you invest in a property but I will tell you all I can about the location.

Have a great day!
