Is there any need for an inspection if a property is gutted?

If you are looking at buying a SFH and the whole place is gutted down to the studs and joists, do you really need an inspection? The place has plumbing, electrical etc but if the GC has to rebuild it from almost ground up then why waste 400 bucks? If there is a reason to get an inspection in this case please let me know.
