First Multi Family Property

Soon to be purchasing my first property and was wondering if I could get a little help with the strategy and approach of some seasoned vets.

Would you recommend purchasing a two family or four family owner occupy for my first purchase.

I assume that having just two units to focus on would be easier but I’m not sure.

Is 4 units too much for a first time investor?

House hacking is definitely the route I want to approach but torn between purchasing a two unit or four unit property.

Thank You
