Illinois 22 yr old with 5k cash.... Enough?

I'm 22 and just starting to get into real estate. I have read a few books and listened to a lot of BP. I plan to do much more research but I'm just curious if 5k of my own money is enough to start somewhere? I'm interested in BRRR/ flipping or preferably renting and holding.

I live in an illinois suburban town , hour outside of chicago.

Credit score about 720

I want to start as soon as possible, but I am afraid of losing money. I will start with the cheapest possible properties with the least risk.

Also wondering with how much money did everybody else start with...thank you
