How will an egress window help my appraisal?

Hi BP,

A SFR was originally appraised, but the appraiser did not give 'credit" for the basement since there was no egress window. We are now installing the egress. There is a wall between the room with the egress and the bedroom/bathroom.

Will the new appraisal give "credit" for both rooms in the basement, or only for the room with the egress?

Thanks in advance!

@Daniel Hyman, if the town doesn't change your property card to reflect the additional bedroom and bathroom, it's unlikely you'll get "credit."

You got permits and approvals for all the work, right?
