Courthouse Auction Best Practices?

Account Closed
Posted

Hello Bigger Pockets community!

My name is Daniel Herbruger and my wife Rebeca and I are ready to buy our first property to flip. We will be attending the Courthouse Auction next week and we were wondering if you guys could share some best practices to get the most out of it.

Any insight is highly appreciated,

Rebeca and I are both from Guatemala but we live in San Antonio, Texas.

Hey @Account Closed I think you are about to make the biggest mistake of your life!!

Auctions in general are not for first time buying, not even for most advanced buyers. Too many potential issues as mentioned above.

Just because a property is going to sale, does not mean that it is a good deal. In fact, there are so many properties that are going to sale that have very little if any equity. In addition to all the potential pitfalls, you may have to evict past owners.

Unless you have done plenty of research on title, the house and the homeowners you might be in for some big surprises.

Be Careful!!
