Building a house in Bay Area CA

Hi All,

I am want to live in a 4bed and 3bath home and want to build one from scratch in a reasonable good school district in the Bay Area.

Does any one have experiences building such a house? How much would it cost and what would the numbers look like?

Are there things that need to be considered?

I understand that I might not get a land to build one, and might need to demolish an existing home to build this one.

Will the city permits allow this? Possible areas are Fremont, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.
