First Auction: Due Diligence

Getting ready to bid on my first property on Auction.com. I've heard some mixed reviews about this site and their unexpected fees, but I'm trying to calculate that into a lower purchase price. The property has no HOA; it seems like that is the most common lien on auctions. What other types of liens should I be looking into? The property is in the midwest, vacant, and would be an out of state purchase for me.

I've previously only purchased properties through loans & agents. What type of due diligence should I be doing? I'm trying my best to do research and be cautious with an auction.
