Fixing Historic Homes

Does anyone have experience with historic homes? I got a lead that called me back. She has an 1845 2 bedroom house in town. My business associate didn't want to pursue it because it only had 2 bedrooms and we haven't seen the inside. I heard you can get government benefits/credits for fixing up a historic house. Does anyone have experience in any of this? Thank you in advance.
