The period between purchase agreement to closing date

Anat Levi
Posted

I agreed to purchase a condo in Toronto. My lawyer received the November status certificate, went over it and confirm everything is ok.

My closing date was March 1, three months after the agreement.

Between Dec to March- the condo management found out there are Kitec Plumbing in every unit and every unit needs to replace it individually. This information was added to the status certificate in Feb and was published to the homeowners on March 15.
It happened between the purchase agreement and the closing date.

Is there something that protects the buyer in this period between the purchase agreement and the closing date?
