Putting a house under contract

Hey everyone. I am a newer investor and just had some questions regarding contracts.

When you are putting a house under contract how do you ensure that you have all the appropriate clauses in the contract to protect yourself? Do you as the investor have your own contract written up and if so where did you get the info for doing that? Or do you just have your real estate agent write up the contract with you specific clauses?

Also what are some common clauses to include when putting a house under contract as an investor?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Austin,

Your agent will have the contract drafted up and the financing, appraisal, and inspection contingencies should be in it.  I am not sure what your contracts look like in Utah but in CA those are embedded in every CA Assoc of Realtor contract.  Ask your agent to explain it to you.  This is for residential purchase.
