House on the market for 6 months

Sean Fitzgerald
Posted

I've had my house on the market for 6 months now and no offers but several showings. House is in good condition, no major repairs required. Our price is at the lower end of the average price/sq ft on the CMA. Average days on market for the CMA is 33 days with some in the single digits.

My agent is saying our house is a bit “dated” and the flooring could use an update. She is saying she believes this is the only reason reason it isn’t selling and was wondering if we wanted to lower our price again.

I’m new to the real estate world and don’t have much experience selling homes and was wondering if anyone had advice on what to do? If other houses that have the updates are selling, how do we price it competitively to account for the needed updates?

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for the help!
