Can we be added to title?
I have a family member that is very sick and unable to make her mortgage payments. Her retired mother who lives with her is currently making the payments, but she can not afford it either.
My husband and I have offered to buy the house for what she owes on the mortgage while still allowing them to live in the house rent free.
Does it make more sense to just add our name on the title? That way when she passes it is our property? What happens to the loan in this case if the loan is in her name?
