BRRRR Refi appraisal question

I’m trying to find out how to get a converted room permitted as a 4th bedroom. House is in Indy, the room was originally a garage but has been a bonus room for awhile now, I believe converted by the previous owner.

Does anyone know where I would go to get this done?

And, almost more importantly, how tough are the inspectors in Indy? On the east and west coast, they might tell me to open up all the walls to see the wiring, etc., or even convert it back to a garage. Is that the case in Indy at all? Trying to assess my risk here. Thanks!

My additional question for the forum is: do I even need to get this updated? Or, can the appraiser in a Refi count it as a bedroom and Cino me to the 4 bedrooms, without the room being listed on the property county records as a bedroom?

Thanks!
