Selling home - Broker going on vacation

Hello,

This is the first time I am selling property and signed contract with a broker . We expected to sell the property quickly but it has been 4 weeks since it is on market and now broker tells me he is going to be out of the country for 5 weeks  . He is having his friend cover him but the friend realtor will not be doing any open houses . I am not happy with that besides all the postings have my realtor number . What are my options ? Is the contract binding me not to fire him ?

Thanks,

Sid

No, you have no grounds to fire him. 2 misunderstandings you have:

The property not selling, or at least not getting any offers, means your property is over priced.

Open houses do Not sell that house.....some owners, like you, thinks that open houses are doing something for you. A very small percentage of people but a house they find through an open house. Open houses are all about marketing for the real estate company.....finding buyers so they can sell them what they are Really looking for, or can afford.
