What are the pros and cons of buying in Maryland?

Good day y'all,

Planning on investing in Maryland. Would anyone care to share your experience and knowledge of the local area in and around Washington DC. What would be the pros and the cons? What should one take into consideration when buying? What are the tax advantage if any when compared to VA of DC?

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post and share your thoughts.

Sincerely,

T

@Thierry Lemercier - Hoodbridge is in the DC area, so I strongly suggest you join WREIA (John Peterson has been running it for years) and speak with other investors for their input. Undoubtedly, there will be some PG County investors you can mingle with. As you know, MD taxes are higher than VA, however it's nominal. The #1 difference that investors complained about (at least, when I was there) is that MD laws are tenant-friendly vs VA, which is not as forgiving. That made VA preferable. Good luck!
