How to write up a legal promissory note & settlement statement

Hello!  I am rather new to being an Investor.  I have completed one Brrrr and am still rehabbing a 2nd using a hard money lender.  My MIL is willing to loan me money but in order to make it legit I need a promissory note and a settlement statements I can transition to a conventional loan.  Any suggestions for how to write these up so they are credible and legal?  Or just suck it up and hire an Attorney to write up the promissory note?  The settlement statement I guess I would do?  She is willing but I have to get all the details taken care of.  Thanks!
