Can I save money by buying a home without an agent?

I'm looking to buy a home I found listed for sale online. Is there any way I can avoid going through a buyer's agent (who will earn 3% from the seller) and instead get somewhat of a reduction on the price of the property?

I've purchased homes as investment properties in the past and have come to realize that in most scenarios I found the home myself, hired my own inspectors and that the agent was simply there to negotiate on my behalf with the other agent. The buyer's agent gets paid by the seller, so if I can avoid having an agent I'm hoping I can get a partial reduction in price since I will be saving the seller the buyer's commission.

Anyone have thoughts on if this is realistic? If so, what is the best way to proceed?

Edit: This is for a home in Oregon. I know there are some buyer's agents out there that provide cashback. But I think that isn't allowed in OR.
