People living in a house I purchased

Posted

Hello BP members,

I closed on a property yesterday and when I went to the house today I found house guests of the previous owner still in the house.  The owner has moved out, and these individuals told me that they were planning on being out in the next few days.  They do not have a lease, but clearly were living there more then just house guests.  From what I have read I still need to treat them like inherited tenants.  I provided them with a five day notice to vacate the property in alignment with the eviction process.  I only have their first names, and no other information, so an eviction should be interesting.  Anyone have a similar issue?  Thoughts on how best to proceed?  Thanks
