Detroit rental investing, do’s, dont’s good areas and bad?
My partner and I are considering investing in rental properties in Detroit. We currently live in Florida but are flying up there next month to try and get a lay of the land, and hopefully spend a couple of days checking out properties.
Is there any specific things or areas we should primalrly be focusing on? Any unforeseen pitfalls that we should be aware of?? We know Detroit seems to be going through some positive changes of late, but we’re also aware neighborhoods and even streets can differs dramatically from one to next.
The plan is to buy a single family house ranging from 60k to 100k in a condition that wouldn’t require a huge amount of rehab that could cash flow $100 to $200 each month.
Thank you in advance for all suggestions!
