Just bought a property that requires flood insurance.  Called my insurance broker and was shocked by the cost.  Any suggestions. Florida

Don't buy property that requires flood insurance in the future, it really is very expensive, so expensive in fact that FEMA has to subsidize it and it is still that expensive. Shop around for the best rate but it will be high no matter where you go.
