How do I structure this business?

Hello all,

My husband and I live in California and just purchased our first investment property in North Carolina. We are trying to figure out if we should create a corporation for this investment. If so, should it be a California corporation or a North Carolina corporation? I have also heard that properties shouldn't be held in a corporation but instead in an LLC. Again, should it be in CA or NC?

Can anyone enlighten me or point me in a good direction on where I can learn how we should move forward with this?

Thanks so much!

Jenny
