Is house hacking while flipping a bad idea?

Uri Murdoch
Posted

I just purchased a duplex last year that I am house hacking. I plan to live in it for a year then rent it out. I've now come across a deal that I want to invest in. I'd like to fix up a property and rent it out but I'd be getting an investment loan to do it. Will doing this second deal raise any red flags for me or get me into trouble? People throw around that term mortgage fraud and it scares me.
