taking over a project

I am looking at purchasing a property that is halfway completed. The mechanical pieces have been roughed and signed off. Ready for sheet rock, plaster, paint, and finishes. Ultimately I will be using the BRRR strategy. My question is has anyone had any experience taking over a project in this stage and run into any problems? Or have advice? My thoughts are to close out existing permits and open new ones under my own subcontractors.
